Frequently asked questions
Are Paisavy calculators free? Do I need to sign up?
Yes, every calculator is free, and you don't need an account. We don't ask for your name, phone number or email. We never ask for your OTP, UPI PIN, PAN or Aadhaar either. You type in your own numbers, and the result updates on the page.
Is it safe to enter my salary and loan amounts?
Yes. The sums run in your browser, and nothing you enter leaves your device. When one tool passes a number to another, such as take-home pay to the budget tool, it stays in short-term browser storage. It is cleared when you close the tab. Amounts never appear in page addresses. Saving a result on your device is optional, and you can delete it.
How accurate are the calculator results?
They are only as good as the numbers you enter and the rules for the date shown. All tools share one set of calculations, with a version number and a rules date. Each new version must pass a fixed list of test cases before it goes live. Every tool explains its formula and limits under "How we calculate this". Treat the result as a guide, not financial advice.
What happens if I don't know one of the numbers?
The tool says "We need more information". It never treats an unknown number as zero, and it never guesses in your favour. If a rule isn't confirmed for the period you chose, the tool says it can't calculate that yet. Find the missing figure on your payslip or loan papers, then try again.
Will the calculator tell me if I can afford a loan?
Not with a simple yes. The Can I afford it? tool gives one of four results. Your money covers it, your budget is sensitive to changes, there is a shortfall, or we need more information. It also tests a weak month, with 20% less income by default. That 20% test is a Paisavy suggestion, not an RBI rule. No calculator can promise the future.
Which calculator should I use?
Start from your question. Salary turns a CTC offer into take-home pay. Budget plans the month and tests a weak one. EMI & total cost shows interest, fees and APR. Compare two loan offers puts two quotes side by side. Already behind on payments? Start with Hard to pay. This page groups every tool by topic.
